3D Modelling Supports Successful Roofing Delivery at Slough’s Union Park

PGP recently completed roofing and drainage works at Ark Data Centre’s Union Park, a technically complex project near Heathrow. To meet the build’s coordination challenges, PGP became the first contractor on this campus to introduce 3D modelling for the downpipe design — enabling complex service coordination and efficient delivery.

“It became apparent very early that increasing the level and scope of design coordination in this project would be essential for its successful delivery,” said Thomas Barber, PGP CEO.

This approach helped unlock the project’s sequencing and has since led to follow-on work awarded to PGP on the same campus.

“As a business, we take great pride in our wide range of internal skills, and this truly shone through in this case, making the delivery of this scope possible,” Thomas added.

The package included the design, supply and installation of the felt roofing, guttering and downpipes. PGP’s work was delivered in partnership with Sweet Projects.
